The time capsule is on display at headquarters and archival bags in various sizes are available for sale and are required to place items into capsule for 2060.  Nothing with batteries is permitted and anyone placing items in intended for a particular person when the capsule is opened in 2060, should place instructions or their name inside and visible through the bag.  Bags will also be available during the Street Fair June 5 from 9 am to 4 pm as well as during the scheduled events throughout the week of June 5 - 13. The Sesquicentennial Committee retains the right to inspect the contents of any and all bags as a precaution for protecting the contents of the capsule.

Scheduled Events:

June 5, 2010:   9:30 am - Opening of time capsule buried during 1960 Centennial.  Ceremony starts at 9:30am at the Glen Rock Street Fair which runs from 9 am to 4 pm.  Brodbecks Band plays from 10 am - 1 pm.  Sirens on the Rocks from 1 - 3pm and music by Willys starting at 6:30 pm at the park with Fireworks at dusk in Park.

June 6, 2010:   6:00 pm - History of each church in town by Dr. Charles Gladfelter and COMMUNITY CHURCH SERVICE at 7:00 pm.  Both held at Zion Church.  Lite refreshments will follow.

June 7, 2010:   7:00 pm - Wine Tasting takes place at 55A Main St. (Geiple Bldg.) starting at 7 pm.  Tickets Required - Call Sandy 717-235-6657 for tickets and info.  Walking history tour of downtown Glen Rock.  Leaves 55A Main St. at 7 pm - FREE

June 8, 2010:   7:15 pm - Roland F. Seitz Concert by the Brodbecks Band on Water Street.  Pre-concert music at 7:15 pm - concert 7:30 pm.  Plaque dedication by Glen Rock Historic Preservation Society to honor Mr. Seitz.  PLEASE bring chairs.  In case of rain - concert at Zion Church.

June 9, 2010:   5:30 pm - Community Picnic sponsored by Wetzel’s Market and the Glen Rock Rec Board starting at 5:30 pm

June 10, 2010:  7:00 pm - Christmas in June  -
The Glen Rock Carolers will present a concert at Zion.
The Church will be selling strawberries and ice cream
from 5 pm to 7 pm.

June 11, 2010:  2:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Honoring Our Vets - Display of old military vehicles, war memorabilia and more starting at 2 pm at the Glen Rock American Legion - 4035 Manchester St.  POW/MIA Memorial at 7 pm.  Flag retirement at 8 pm.  Food available throughout the day.

June 12, 2010:  11:00 am - Civil War era Fashion Show and Victorian Jewelry Show at the Glen Rock Mill Inn.  Tickets required.  Anyone wanting information should call Lucy Cadwallader at 717-235-7034.
